Feelings of fatigue can mean not enough sleep in some cases. But if you’re experiencing fatigue consistently, you may be deficient in certain key nutrients, such as vitamin B9. This vitamin, also known as folate, works with vitamins B12 and C to create and repair DNA and aid in red blood cell production. Folate’s involvement in DNA production makes it an especially important nutrient during pregnancy.
When these processes are impeded due to a deficiency, it can lead to a shortage of red blood cells, which in turn deprives body tissues of oxygen and leads to anemia.
